These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Oppida governing your access to and use of our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account or using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Oppida.

Oppida provides a digital marketplace connecting property seekers with verified real estate agents in Nigeria. We offer listing discovery, agent verification, booking tools, safety features, and related services.

Oppida is a technology platform. We are not a real estate broker, landlord, or party to property transactions unless explicitly stated. Agents and property owners are independent third parties.

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

Agents on Oppida undergo background checks and KYC verification. Verification indicates that an agent has met our onboarding standards at the time of approval; it does not guarantee future conduct or the accuracy of every listing.

Users should exercise independent judgment and report suspicious activity through the Platform.

Oppida offers optional safety tools including live location sharing, SOS alerts, and inspection check-ins. These features are supplementary aids and do not replace personal judgment, local emergency services, or professional security advice.

We are not liable for delays or failures in third-party emergency response systems. In an emergency, contact local authorities immediately.

Property listings are provided by agents and third parties. We strive to ensure accuracy but do not warrant that listings are error-free, available, or as described. All viewings, negotiations, and agreements are between you and the relevant agent or owner.

Payments processed through the Platform may be subject to additional terms from payment providers. Fees, deposits, and refunds are governed by the agreement between parties unless otherwise stated on the Platform.

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or reviews
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users or agents
• Circumvent verification, safety, or payment systems
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse Platform data or APIs
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose under Nigerian law

All content, trademarks, logos, and software on the Platform are owned by Oppida or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of content you submit but grant Oppida a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute it in connection with operating the Platform.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oppida shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, property viewings, agent interactions, or safety feature failures.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Oppida in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred thousand Naira (₦100,000), whichever is greater.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or conduct that harms the Platform or other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lagos State, Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
